The Journey of One Extraordinary Middle Child and his 2 Siblings

Ryder is my middle child. He is 6 years old. Ryder loves being silly. He loves chocolate. He celebrates his individuality.
I hope you enjoy his view of the world as much as I do.

Jesus Party

Like many kids, Ryder is already thinking about how he wants celebrate his next birthday.

His plans for this year caught me a bit off guard.  No super heroes.  No trip to Chucky Cheese.  Ryder wants a Jesus party.

My first thought was, "How amazingly wonderful!"  I'm never sure what Ryder absorbs when we discuss faith, but this seemed to be a good sign he was getting something from church and bedtime prayers.

Then I started to think about actually hosting a Jesus birthday party.  Pinata?  No...beating a Jesus head with a stick is definitely sacrilegious.  Ryder requested a Jesus cake.  That sounded easy enough.  But then I pictured people hacking into to the cake with a image of Christ and again, became a bit concerned.  Party favors?  Bibles?   Ryder also requested a bounce house because he insists Jesus would have loved to jump in a bounce house.

I'm glad I have four months to work on this.
