The Journey of One Extraordinary Middle Child and his 2 Siblings

Ryder is my middle child. He is 6 years old. Ryder loves being silly. He loves chocolate. He celebrates his individuality.
I hope you enjoy his view of the world as much as I do.

Life WILL Change

It's been nearly three months since Will came home.  Some things have changed a lot, and others very little.  Mostly I feel that it is hard to remember a time when Will wasn't a part of our lives.  He just fits.

Here's a few things that are different in my life since this brown-eyed boy entered the scene:

  • The smell of cologne lingers on the entire bottom floor of the house.
  • They laundry seems to have doubled, though we only added one person.
  • I am a taxi.  I was nearly a full-blown taxi driver before Will arrived, now I am just missing the little sign on the top of my car.  Oh, and tips.  I am missing tips.
  • My favorite sport is 9th grade basketball.
  • I always have a shopping buddy.
  • I am asked, "Can I drive?"   Every time I leave the house with him.
  • There is always at least one boy playing video games at any given time in our home.
  • I never have to carry in groceries by myself.
  • I know what the words "boss" and "ratchet" mean and have been advised not to use either.
  • Luke always has someone to play basketball with him.
  • If Will is home.  Leah is by his side.  If she is not by his side, she is asking, "Where's Will?"
  • I buy more ranch dressing, chewing gum, Twizzlers, and Powerade that I ever imagined.
  • Going to a restaurant involves waiting for the large table in the corner or tables being pushed together.
  • Our family takes up half a pew at church.
  • There is some football game on television all weekend.
  • I know the saying is true: A mother's heart always has room for one more.
